Unique museum revealing river Ganga’s Journey from Gangotri to Gangasagar!

Ganga, one of the most sacred rivers in the world finds its origin at Gangotri and flows down to Gangasagar. Hindu mythology reveals facts related to the origin of Ganga and its sacredness. Millions of people visit Haridwar every year to get rid of their sins by making the holy dip in Ganga.

Now, Uttarakhand government has decided to make a very unique museum that will keep every information related to the origin of Ganga from Gangotri and its entire journey till Gangasagar. The museum will also provide information related to the religious importance and historical background of Ganga’s emanation. This museum will be built at ‘Chandi Dweep’ near ‘Har ki Paudi’.

The construction of museum on ‘Ganga’ will be soon be started and will complete within a span of 2 years. The estimate cost in completing this museum is Rs. 40 crores. It is going to be a museum of its own kind in India. It is proposed that the museum will have a highly modern theatere\ with a sitting capacity of about 1000 people. This museum will serve as a rich source of information about Ganga to the people of India and foreign countries who are curious to know about the holy river Ganga.
