Lord Hanuman was one of the famous characters of renowned Hindu epic, Ramayana and is worshiped as God throughout the nation. Lord Hanuman is known for his extreme reverence to Lord Rama and efforts he made to rescue Goddess Sita from demon ‘Ravana’. Throughout India there are thousands of temples devoted to Lord Hanuman. One such temple is, Jakhu temple located at a chilling height of 8,500 feet above sea level in Shimla hills. It is believed that Lord Hanuman dropped his ‘Sandals’ at Jakhu hills while he was carrying the ‘Sanjeevani Buti Mountain’ in his hands. As a result, Lord Hanuman temple was built at Jakhu and since then this place is worshiped in the name of Lord Hanuman. One can see many monkeys loitering around the place which are regarded as the best companions of Lord Hanuman.
