$2 Billion Total Income by TCS in Second Quarter of 2010- Highest by any IT Company in India!

India is well known for the various IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services etc. showing tremendous progress in their work and their revenue as well. During the second quarter of the fiscal year 2010, Tata Consultancy Services, one of India’s largest software companies has made a record of achieving the highest revenue by an IT company in India in a quarter of year, 2010. Increase in the outsourcing orders from foreign nations resulted in the tremendous surge in the total revenue and consequently in the total profit of TCS in the second quarter of 2010 (from July to September, 2010).

From July to September, 2010 TCS made a total income of Rs. 9286.4 crore ($ 2 Billion plus income). By doing so, TCS has become the first IT Company in India to record $2 Billion income in second quarter of a year. As compared to 2010, TCS made total revenue of Rs. 7435.2 crore in the year 2009 for the second quarter. As a result there has been a growth of almost 24% in the total income of TCS in the second quarter of 2010 as compared to 2009. N Chandrasekaran is the CEO and MD of Tata Consultancy Services who reported this performance of TCS as the best ever.

If we look into the net profit earned by TCS in the second quarter of 2010, it is Rs. 2169 crore. While as compared to 2010, the net profit earned by TCS in the year 2009 for the same duration was just Rs. 1,642.9 crore. Thus, there has been 32% net increase in the net profit of Tata Consultancy Services for the second quarter of 2010 as compared to 2009. If the company continues to earn revenue in the same phase, then by the end of current fiscal year, 2010, TCS will become over $8 billion Company.
