The festive season of 2010 is on with festivals like Dusshehra, Karva Chauth, Diwali and people are willing to lose their pockets to avail the heavy discounts and offers on various electronic items. Electronic items like TV’s, laptops, desktops, cameras, cell phones are not new to people but recently almost every TV brand is up with their 3D version to attract the customers. Indian citizens enjoyed the 3D version of sci-fi movie ‘Avatar’ on big screens and now they can enjoy 3D movies at their home with their 3D televisions.

Though, 3D TV can be marked as innovative but does Indian market have enough 3D content? There are very less movies or TV content in 3D versions. In India there is very less focus on making 3D content as it is very expensive. 3D Television was launched in India in March, 2010 and now there are many TV brands with their 3D TV versions. A 3D Television will cost between the range of Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 4 lakhs and what is the use of spending so much if you are able to watch very few movies due to lack of 3D content.

As such, presently Indian market is not fit for the 3D Televisions. However, it is alleged that within couple of year’s producers and broadcasters will come with more movies, games and content in 3D. By the end of 2014, 20% of all the movies will be in 3D format giving people a good percentage of 3D content and then one can think of spending lakhs on 3D TV as 3D content will grow in India.
