India is one of the rapidly growing and developing countries in the world. Telecommunication has seen a major growth in India in two decades. Internet facility has also spread its web in almost all the cities of India within 15 years. However, there are still many rural areas in the country deprived from these facilities of land line telephones and internet facility. As such, there exists a lot of communication gap between villages and cities and people have to suffer delayed communication or go to distant places for the same.

Now, in another move to cover all the villages of India with telephone and internet facility, a scheme will be incorporated with an investment of Rs. 15,000 crore. Sam Pitroda, Advisor of Prime Minister of Dr. Manmohan Singh disclosed about this scheme to connect maximum villages of India with telephone and internet facility. The budget of Rs. 15,000 crore will come from the Universal Service Fund (USF) of Rs. 24,000 crore. This scheme of ‘Rural Telecommunication Network’ will connect all the villages of India. Implementation of this scheme connecting maximum rural regions of the country will surely transform India into an astonishingly connected country.
