How to Solve HTTP Error 500.19-Internal Server Error

HTTP Error 500.19-Internal Server Error
The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.

Recently I was deploying website in IIS  and then got the error 500.19 when browsing the site from IIS as shown in the picture below:

Steps to Fix Error HTTP Error 500.19-Internal Sever Error:

Step 1:     Start Visual studio command prompt as an administrator as shown in the picture below:

Step 2:     In the visual studio command prompt type the  command aspnet_regiis –i and then press Enter as shown in picture below:



Step 3:      Installation process will take some time and once finished it will display finished installing message. After installation again refresh site in IIS and browse it again.
Conclusion: The above mentioned procedure will fix the Http Error 500.19 :"The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.". If it didn't solve your problem then you can post the issue through the comments.

    1. Hi Govind,
      It is hard to give the exact solution without checking the detail of the error. Another reason might be permission issue for web.config file. So give read/write permission to your web application. If you still face issue then let me know or add me on skype. My skype account is: mkumar12406

  5. Hi, someone please help, I'm using VS 2013 express, and new here.
    I've tried to run it: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\VC>aspnet_regiis -i
    And got the following:
    'aspnet_regiis' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.

    Please help??

    To inspect the error cause you can check from IIS. Refer to this to check log in IIS
