How to Change User Interface in Setup Project in Desktop Application

In this tutorial I am going to explain the steps of modifying user interface while creating the setup project for windows application. If you are searching for the steps of creating setup file then refer to this article: How to create setup Project in Visual Studio

Steps to Modify User Interface of setup installer in Desktop Application:

Step 1: Right click on setup project in solution explorer and then select the option View and then choose the option User Interface as shown in the diagram below:

Step 2: In user interface all the steps of installation will be listed. You can customize any of the step of installation in this window. Here I am changing the banner image shown when the welcome screen appear in the setup.

Right click on Welcome dialog and choose the option Properties Window as shown in the diagram below:

Step 3: In Properties window choose the option Browse in BannerBitmap as shown in the diagram below:

Step 4: In Select Item in Project window double click on Application Folder as shown in the diagram below:

Step 5: In Application folder click on Add File option and add the banner image from your computer:

Step 6: Build the setup project and install  the setup by running the .exe file .

You can customize any of the dialog shown in step 2  of setup project according to your requirement.

You can see the banner image would be the one you have chosen in this whole process.
